و سأعرض مثال حي لهذا، من منا لم يتحمل جهد بدني شاق إلا من أجل الحصول على ميزة أو فائدة؟ ولكن من لديه الحق أن ينتقد شخص ما أراد أن يشعر بالسعادة التي لا تشوبها عواقب أليمة أو آخر أراد أن يتجنب الألم الذي ربما تنجم عنه بعض المتعة ؟
علي الجانب الآخر نشجب ونستنكر هؤلاء الرجال المفتونون بنشوة اللحظة الهائمون في رغباتهم فلا يدركون ما يعقبها من الألم والأسي المحتم، واللوم كذلك يشمل هؤلاء الذين أخفقوا في واجباتهم نتيجة لضعف إرادتهم فيتساوي مع هؤلاء الذين يتجنبون وينأون عن تحمل الكدح والألم .

(السّعادة مصدرها الدّاخل)… وهكذا.
اقنع نفسك بالقدرة على إسعادها، وقل لنفسك: (لقد نجحت في التغلّب على غضبي.. وسأنجح في الحصول على السّعادة إن شاء الله).
السعادة ليست لغزاً يحتاج إلى إعمال الفكر والخيال والتصوّر لمعرفة حلّه! ولكنّها امتثال وعمل وهمّة وبذل الجهد في سبيل تحصيل ما نحب، فأيّ شيءٍ نطلبه في هذه الحياة يحتاج إلى جهدٍ كبير، وعمل دؤوب، فكيف إذا كان هذا المطلوب متعلّقاً بالسّعادة!! ففي هذه الأيّام صارت السّعادة شبحاّ نسمع به ولا نراه أو لا نعيشه.
كل يوم هو فرصة جديدة. يمكنك بناء على نجاح الأمس أو وضع إخفاقاتها وراء والبدء من جديد. هذه هي الطريقة التي هي الحياة، مع لعبة جديدة كل يوم، وهذا هو الطريق البيسبول.
